Samsung Unveils Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7: Setting a New Standard for Foldable Smartphones

San Francisco, July 9, 2025 – At its highly anticipated Galaxy Unpacked 2025 event, Samsung introduced the latest in its foldable lineup—the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7. With sleek form factors, powerful AI integration, and long-term software support, both devices mark a significant leap forward in the evolution of foldable smartphones.

Galaxy Z Fold 7: A Refined Powerhouse

The Galaxy Z Fold 7 pushes boundaries in both performance and design. Touted as Samsung’s slimmest and lightest foldable yet, it features an 8.0-inch main display and a 6.5-inch cover screen, supported by the new Armor FlexHinge, which reduces the crease and enhances durability.

A standout feature is the 200 MP main camera, powered by Samsung’s new Pro Visual Engine, delivering unmatched detail for mobile photography. The Fold 7 also ships with Android 16 and One UI 8, with Samsung promising up to seven years of OS and security updates, offering unprecedented longevity in a premium device.

Under the hood, Galaxy AI enables advanced functionality like Generative Edit, live translation, and real-time productivity tools. Fold 7 is positioned as the ultimate multitasking device for professionals and creatives alike.

Galaxy Z Flip 7: Compact, Stylish, and Smarter

The Galaxy Z Flip 7 delivers a more compact form factor with major usability improvements. It introduces a larger 4.1-inch edge-to-edge Flex Window with 120Hz refresh rate and 2,600 nits’ brightness, alongside a 6.9-inch main display. At 13.7mm when folded, it’s Samsung’s thinnest Flip to date.

For the first time, the Flip series includes Samsung DeX support, transforming the device into a mini workstation. Powered by the energy-efficient Exynos 2500 chipset, it boasts a 4,300 mAh battery—the largest in the Flip lineup.

While Galaxy AI features like Interpreter Mode, photo suggestions, and Gemini Live are present, early reviews note limited support for third-party apps and widgets on the cover screen compared to its predecessor.

Aiming for the Future

Both the Fold 7 and Flip 7 support image input, multimodal interaction, and deeper AI-powered toolsets, representing Samsung’s commitment to creating devices that go beyond standard smartphone capabilities.

These launches reflect Samsung’s broader strategy of bringing AI, design, and user experience together in form factors that adapt to modern digital life—whether for productivity, entertainment, or personal creativity.

The devices are now available for pre-order and will begin shipping on July 25, 2025. The Galaxy Z Flip 7 starts at $1,099, while the Fold 7’s pricing reflects its position at the premium end of the market.
